George Strickland, Managing Director
George Strickland wants to live in a world where every person has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and contribute to the betterment of society. And, that our society matures into one that cares for the elderly and disabled among us and those who protect and serve the general welfare of our country.
George completed 35 years of working in corporate America in positions of increasing responsibility for several Fortune 500 companies. He managed engineering teams responsible for the acquisition and construction of large capital projects in the energy field, and led and managed teams responsible for the day-to-day operations in retailing of energy products, food service and convenience stores rising to the position of Vice-President of Engineering and Construction for a major international energy company.
George received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN., and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University, Berea, OH. He believes that you are never done learning and continues his education with online courses.
In 2010, he and his wife, Jan became business owners when they opened their first company in Tustin, CA. George and Jan acquired an existing home care agency and have now owned and operated this business for six consecutive years, growing to become one of the largest in Orange County. Their agency is highly recognized in the industry having won numerous recognitions, including 2011 Orange County Caregiver of the Year, 2013 Tustin Business of the Year, 2015 Employer of Choice Award, 2015 Provider of Choice Award and 2017 Best in Home Care Award among others. In 2016, he opened and began serving clients with a second business. IKOR is an advocacy and life management consulting business serving seniors, their families and the disabled and is a valuable resource to assist in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve.
George and his wife Jan are the parents of two adult children and two grandchildren. Their work is their passion, but life outside of work includes travel to visit family. George is a private pilot and a certified diver. He makes irregular attempts to play golf. They routinely contribute a percentage of earnings from their company to the Saddleback Foodbank.
George is active in the community, serving past and present on several industry and non-profit boards of directors. He speaks regularly in the community on senior related issues and is a certified leader for the Orange County Office on Aging education program on Living Healthy with Chronic Conditions.
Registered Nurse Advocates
Our Registered Nurse Advocates are highly experienced professionals with supervisory or management experience in the nursing field. RN Advocates have received specialized training from IKOR and have a special understanding of medical advocacy. They help our clients, and their families, navigate the complex, and often fragmented care systems. We understand tending to the needs of seniors and the disabled can be a daunting challenge. Our RN Advocates work with our clients to determine their medical needs and coordinate the delivery of care services to ensure our client’s needs are being met and personal preferences are being fulfilled.
Personal Needs Coordinators
Our Personal Needs Coordinators (PNCs) are experienced financial professionals who provide guidance, planning, oversight and the implementation of plans designed to focus on our client’s important life challenges. Personal Needs Coordinators can act as an independent, objective party to help make financial decisions that are in the best interest of our client. From helping the client find an appraiser for antiques or jewelry to helping them liquidate assets or getting quotes and bids for home modifications and repairs, our PNCs are ready to help our clients make informed decisions.
Cesar Delgado, Marketing Director
Cesar’s professional experience covers a period of over 25 years, which includes increasing leadership roles with local government, non-profit organizations and small business ownership. Cesar was the Executive Director of a non-profit housing development team that built senior housing communities throughout California. Cesar discovered his passion for working with older adults in the summer of 1985, when he worked as a caregiver (CNA/HHA), with Visiting Nurses Association, the first home care company in California.
Cesar received a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz, CA. Cesar considers himself a lifelong learner and believes that the day you stop learning, is the day you stop growing! His goal is to obtain his MBA and MSG, by 2020.
In 2004, Cesar and his family formed A New Day Services, which provides case management and senior housing options, to older adults and special needs clients. In 2016, Cesar joined IKOR. IKOR is an advocacy and life management consulting business serving older adults, their families and the disabled.
