Lori Herrera, Managing Director
Lori is a Certified Senior Advisor® (CSA), and the Managing Director and owner of IKOR in Denver. She has nearly 30 years of experience with the difficult management of chronic and terminal illnesses. She knows the changes many face with aging and understands firsthand the importance of having the right resources, support systems, and a plan in place to face the last chapter of life. Her career of more than 20 years as a C-level executive in mission-driven non-profit organizations helped prepare her for the legal, financial and human aspects of life care management and end of life needs. In addition to fiduciary services, Lori will also serve as a medical power of attorney or guardian.
She feels privileged to now work with aging adults and people with disabilities and help them navigate complex systems, manage family dynamics, serve in critical roles when family and friends cannot and find resources and solutions in the areas of medical, financial, and everyday life needs.
Lori holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1995. She belongs to: The National Guardianship Association, The Colorado Guardianship Association, The Colorado Bar – Elder Law and Estate and Trust Sections, The Society of Senior Certified Advisors, The Colorado LGBT Bar Association, The Society of Certified Senior Advisors, and The Women’s Estate Planning Council of Denver.
Our Life Care Management Professionals
Sue is the Business Manager for IKOR and she and Lori can serve in fiduciary roles including Conservator, Trustee, Durable Power of Attorney and Personal Representative for IKOR clients. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting with more than 30 years of financial experience including asset management, account servicing, financial analysis, real estate portfolio management, as well as legal and operational experience. As the mother of a teen with special needs, Sue understands the importance of strong client advocacy, managing client complexities and coordination of efficient and individualized service delivery.
Haley has a BSN and more than 20 years of nursing experience in critical care, emergency medicine, oncology, and home health. Treating patients with complex or chronic conditions in the home or alternate site setting requires a specialized understanding of managing and supporting the patients’ specific condition. Her experience includes care management and in-home specialty infusion services treating rare conditions such as autoimmune and neuromuscular disorders, primary immunodeficiencies, and genetic diseases. She is a member of the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA.)
Candace is an RN with 14 years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical hospital unit and served as a clinical supervisor. As a registered nurse experienced in staffing, education, communication and auditing, her passion has evolved towards individuals struggling with their own care or the care of their loved one. As the mother of a severe special needs child she understands the extreme challenges this brings to a family. Her compassion and experience are well suited to navigate, advocate, organize and manage lives for those needing assistance.
Deb's 30-year corporate career at UPS focused on excelling as a sales and marketing strategist. She has experience in brand marketing, channel development, product management and market research. Her most recent marketing success has focused on integrating the salesforce with customer segmentation marketing strategies. Deb has an MBA in Marketing from Regis University. She is homegrown in this state and excited to connect Colorado’s citizens with IKOR’s Life Management Services.
Brenda had a successful 15 year career in Information Technology as a Systems Administrator. A Colorado resident for over 30 years, she’s an active member of the community. Living with and caring for her father in Ohio during the final months of his life made her appreciate the many people who assisted her family through the difficult time. The experience inspired her to seek opportunities to help and support others. Brenda brings compassion, spirit and energy to everything she does.
Bernadette is a Colorado native with more than 20 years’ experience in medical office settings. She works part-time as both a flight attendant and an IKOR personal needs coordinator. Each position gives her the opportunity to help aging adults with uncertainties. She loves helping those who are traveling alone to visit grandchildren as well as assisting others with day-to-day needs as a surrogate adult daughter. One of Bernadette’s parents is suffering from dementia. She understands the great burden that aging with a terminal illness can put on a family.
