John DePiazza, Managing Director / Fiduciary
I was raised in an Air Force family, living around the world, but consider Sacramento my “hometown”. The Jesuits who taught me in high school, shaped me to be “a man for others”. An Army veteran and West Point graduate with 28 years of active and reserve service, I live by the principles “Duty, Honor, Country” and a commitment to integrity. My UC Davis MBA professors challenged me to deliver operational excellence and exceptional client service.
My varied leadership roles in business have included project management, strategic planning, client services, and numerous operational executive positions. I am a builder and problem solver. My time in the armed forces, corporate world, and family businesses has given me the experiences to fulfill the role I like to explain as “general contractor of your life”. I am a lifelong learner, holding a variety of professional degrees and certifications. I have most recently added Residential Care for the Elderly Administrator, Certified Senior Adviser, and Licensed Professional Fiduciary to my credentials.
I am drawn by the significance of IKOR’s work, born out of my experiences helping my dad care for mom through her years of struggle with many of the health issues faced by seniors. There will be a growing need for assistance by those traveling similar paths and I want to help them on their journey. My broad business/life experiences have prepared me well and given me the skills and passion to create an effective and compassionate IKOR team serving the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities, tailored to each unique situation, maximizing choices and quality of life.
Lisa Chance, RN Advocate
I was fortunate enough to be raised by two loving parents who were very community-minded. I wanted to be a nurse since I was a teenager, when the family came together during my grandmother’s extended hospitalization and eventual passing. I went on to receive an AA in Business and worked as a secretary (back when they actually called them that), with a plan to work my way through Nursing school. However, the years rolled by and I kept coming home from work unhappy with my job. My husband told me to go back to school – so, with his support, and that of my parents, I did!
I became a Coronary Intensive Care nurse, obtaining my Critical Care Certification, and eventually a Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care nurse. Once a pay-period, as a change of pace, I also taught the ancillary nursing staff how to document into the hospital’s computer system. I love Nursing and have enjoyed working with the people I’ve worked with through-out the years, becoming life-long friends with many. I’ve always enjoyed helping people and IKOR seems a perfect fit for the next stage of my career. I look forward to providing effective and compassionate IKOR life care management to seniors and individuals with disabilities, addressing their unique situation and maximizing their quality of life.
